Fundraising makes me extremely uncomfortable. I have wanted to go on this trip to India for at least three years but have not followed through for a number of reasons, one of them being fundraising. Making a public declaration that I am in need of money, no matter how worth the cause, is very humbling. But humility is actually what I need as I prepare for this trip. As I experience humility in fundraising, I get a taste of solidarity with the women and children I will be working with --people that live with great need every day. While I'll never truly understand their lives in the course of a ten day trip, that little bit of solidarity will benefit me as I serve them. I hope that I can have the privilege of experiencing a true connection with them that exceeds typical mission work. So while fundraising isn't much fun, it's certainly worthwhile. Thanks again for everyone's prayers and support!
